Our mission is to ensure every cat and dog has a safe, happy, and healthy life through direct animal care and community engagement programs focused on promoting animal welfare and fostering a thriving, compassionate community.
We are based in Austin and the Central Texas region, and we proudly extend our support to communities throughout the state — including small coastal towns such as Palacios. Our primary focus is increasing access to spay and neuter services and supporting community members who care for stray and abandoned animals. By reducing unwanted litters, we prevent overcrowding in shelters and decrease the number of animals at risk of euthanasia.
Through strong partnerships with local nonprofits, veterinarians, and community volunteers, we are working to build a more humane future for animals. As we expand our impact, our long-term vision includes establishing an Animal Welfare Children’s Education Center — a space that will offer hands-on learning, promote responsible pet ownership, and serve as a safe haven for animals in need of adoption.
Texas continues to face high euthanasia rates due in part to limited access to affordable spay and neuter programs. By focusing on prevention, increasing community engagement, and educating the next generation, we aim to change this reality and become a model for compassionate animal welfare practices across the state.
We are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

CURRENT PROJECTS
-
Please review the Current Projects tab on this website for more information. Spaying and neutering is the most effective way to reduce the number of homeless animals in our community. Each surgery prevents unwanted litters, lowers shelter overcrowding, and reduces the number of animals facing euthanasia. It also improves pet health by decreasing risks of certain cancers and reduces roaming and aggressive behaviors. By choosing to spay and neuter, you are helping build a healthier, safer, and more humane future for animals and families in our community.
-
We are focusing on grants for animal welfare nonprofits and we are collaborating with other nonprofits in the area to raise funds collectively to help animal welfare initiatives. Combining grant efforts and collaboration with other nonprofits can significantly increase your impact and funding opportunities throughout Texas.
-
We have partnered with local animal welfare nonprofits to raise funds and expand community support. Our long-term vision is to build a no-kill shelter that will provide a safe haven for animals in need. While we are not in a financial position to begin construction at this time, we are actively working toward making this dream a reality.
-
We have long-term goals to build a no-kill shelter and implement a robust Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program in Texas. Our hope is that—one day—we will create a supportive community across the state with the necessary resources, systems, and partnerships in place.
The need for this vision is urgent. Texas currently leads the nation in animal shelter deaths--with shelters in the state euthanizing tens of thousands of otherwise adoptable cats and dogs.
Achieving no-kill status means maximizing live outcomes (through adoption, foster, transfer, return-to-owner) and minimizing euthanasia.
A TNR program is a key part of the solution: by humanely trapping, sterilizing, vaccinating, and returning community cats, we reduce future overpopulation, reduce the burden on shelter intake, and improve community health and safety.
By combining a no-kill facility, strong community engagement, proactive TNR programs, low-cost spay/neuter access, and partnerships with rescues, clinics, and other organizations, we can build the infrastructure that allows a full community-based lifeline for animals across Texas. We are committed to building it—and to bringing in the resources, training, volunteers, and funding necessary to make it real.
